Understanding RERA: What Every Buyer Should Know

The Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act, 2016 was introduced to bring transparency and accountability to property transactions.

Under RERA, developers must register projects with the state authority, disclose project details publicly, and deposit a portion of buyer payments in an escrow account earmarked for construction.

As a buyer, always check a project's RERA registration number before booking, and use it to track the promoter's track record and any complaints filed against them.
